The recent and still-ongoing COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) outbreak is wreaking havoc on the global economy. However, certain segments, especially the hospitality, discretionary retail, and luxury retail segments have been especially hit hard. On the other hand, the pandemic is providing a boon to "life-sustaining" and otherwise critical economic segments.

The US Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency defines the following sectors as critical:

*Chemical

*Commercial Facilities

*Communications (telecom, etc)

*Critical Manufacturing

*Dams

*Defense Industrial

*Emergency Services

*Energy

*Financial Services

*Food and Agriculture (including restaurants, delis, and grocery stores)

*Government Facilities

*Healthcare/Public Health (including hospitals)

*Information Technology

*Nuclear Reactors/Materials/Waste

*Transportation

*Water/Wastewater Systems

Obviously, hospitality and leisure are out.
