Internet of Things and Security Concerns

Lately, I have been reading about various "Internet of Things" devices being hacked into or otherwise tampered with. The issue with such devices is that that they are heavily flawed and are thus easy to hack. For instance, someone can hack into a smart refrigerator and send out a mass message. In another scenario, a hacker working for an organized crime syndicate can intercept the signal between the key fob and the car, copy the code to a blank key fob, and use the blank to steal the car.
