What are Chinese-Made Security Cameras doing in US Federal Agencies?

This recent article on Bloomberg (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-07-10/banned-chinese-security-cameras-are-almost-impossible-to-remove) raises or should raise many questions about the security of US Federal installations.

Given the current trade tensions between the US and China, these cameras can be to hacked to determine the identities of government personnel and ultimately compromise covert and otherwise undercover operations.
